Biography of Pastor Rickey A. Smith, Sr.

REVEREND RICKEY A. SMITH, SR. was born on May 21st in Chicago, Illinois. He is the second oldest of four children born to the late Jimmie Smith Sr. and Mrs. Frances Smith. Reverend Smith was dedicated and baptized in the Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Chicago, Illinois.   After attending public school, he majored in Information Systems Engineering and graduated from Illinois University and Senior Military Academy School. Currently, he is employed as the Information System Engineer Project Lead for the Department of Defense Information System Engineering Directorate at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

            He accepted the call to the gospel ministry in 1992 under the pastorate of Reverend Dr. Ronald Pages of Greater Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. After being in the military for many years, Reverend Smith, and family moved to Germany. Upon his third tour of duty in Germany, he was ordained by the National Baptist Association of Germany and served as interim Pastor of New Life Baptist Church in Bamberg, Germany. After completing his tour in Germany, he returned to Frederick, where he was reunited with his family and made Frederick, MD his home.  Reverend Smith served as an Assistant Minister for First Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorship and great leadership of Reverend Dr. William H. Graham.

            He is married to the former Regina Williams and together where blessed with a daughter, Christina, & son, Rickey II. They also hold a special place in their heart for grandson Emmanuel and Son-in-Law Marcus Ambush.

            His desire is to serve the Heavenly Father and Lord Jesus Christ guided by the Holy Spirit; and lead His people by providing biblical teaching and spiritual awareness. The Word of God is his guide and continually keeps him focused on God’s purpose for his life.
